This is slightly late and I haven’t done one in a while, but here are my February favorites!
Going to the Gym:
I’ve been trying to go to the gym 3 to 4 times a week, and it feels low-key amazeballs. I normally take a yoga class in the morning or walk for 30 minutes at an incline. It’s not anything crazy and it’s something I did in January as well, but it helps me ease my stress immensely. I love coming home and making an iced latte after.
Square Pie in Philly:
My mom came up this month to come visit me and we went to Square Pie in South Philly. It was so good. My sister, mom, and I split a regular red pie and a white pie. They had this little homemade hot sauce on the table that was delectable. Plus it’s BYOB which I will have to do sometime.
Down with Love (2003):
Piper and I got sick at the same time and in a cold/flu daze we camped out on the couch and watched some movies together. This is the only time I could get Piper to watch a movie with me due to her ADHD. Anyway, we turned this on and were immediately thrown off by the vibe. What is this? We kept saying to each other. Oh, we weren’t prepared for the plot twist, this film was everything. WOW. And the fashion/set design???! Just go watch, I think it’s still on Criterion.
A Horrible/Fun Night Out:
My friends and I went to my hometown at the beginning of the month. My dad took us out to this dive bar in my town and we all got way too drunk. I fell off the booth and drank Crown Apple. I woke up with the worst hangover I think I’ve ever had.
My New Top:
…Yeah… I went into Brandy Melville. I don’t wanna talk about it, except I did buy this top and it’s sooo cute, especially layered underneath shirts.
Making Valentines For My Roomies:
Valentine’s Day is my favorite holiday! Gift-giving is my favorite way to show love, so obviously this day is very special to me. I have been pulling-hair-out kind of stressed so I only had time to make cards and buy lame Hershey Kiss tubes.
RottenMango Video Essays:
I have put all my friends on. RottenMango has a P-Diddy series that has been incredibly informative. She basically goes through and just reads the lawsuit claims. I listen to it at the gym, while I’m cooking, and walking to class.
Opossums:
I saw this opossum on my way to class and haven’t stopped thinking about him. I named him Jimmy. He also looked like he was gonna attack me so that was a tad scary.
Springsteen’s Nebraska:
This album is always essential for me in the colder months. However, I am not sure what happened but I have become enveloped in this record. I can’t stop thinking about where/how Bruce made it and what it meant for his career. It makes me incredibly emotional. I went to Barnes and Noble yesterday and bought Deliver Me From Nowhere, which I am super stoked to read.
Aftermath of Galantines Night:
Obsessed with this image. Obsessed with my friends. Obsessed with Valentines day and Galantines.
My Flats:
I want to wear these more but they give me insane blisters :( Anyway, when I stick 42 bandaids on my heels and thick socks I feel like a boss walking around in them.
Library Sesh:
I graduate in two months!!!! LIKE WHAT? Anyway, that means I have been going to the library as much as I can since I won’t be allowed to go soon. It’s been really awesome. I feel very studious.
Strawberry Jam:
For Galantines day I made homemade poptarts which means I inevitably had to make homemade jam for the middle. This was stressful AF. I love baking, but for some reason, getting this to reach the temp I needed was a pain, and it boiled over, creating a sticky burnt mess. Anyway, I’ve been putting the leftovers on my sourdough bread and it’s incredible. I will never buy jam from the store again!
